Tencent WorkBuddy and Artux solve different operating problems. WorkBuddy is a desktop agent that uses an employee's local files, applications, shell environment, and credentials; messaging platforms can remotely direct that desktop worker. Artux runs in a dedicated cloud instance that belongs to the company rather than to an employee's computer, stays available around the clock, and operates recurring cross-system workflows. The most useful selection question is not which product is “smarter,” but where the executor needs to live.
Where WorkBuddy is strong
A desktop agent sits beside the person's daily work. That gives it immediate access to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, local files, and authenticated desktop sessions. It can produce office artifacts without first integrating every local application into a cloud service.
WorkBuddy also fits Tencent's ecosystem and can be directed through supported messaging channels. For a company that wants to give each employee a personal assistant, low-friction desktop adoption is a real advantage.
The structural boundary of a desktop agent
A desktop runtime depends on the computer remaining powered on and the application continuing to run. That is reasonable for work initiated by a person. It is less dependable for a 07:30 inventory calculation, an overnight server inspection, or a weekend competitor-price monitor.
The agent also inherits the condition of one workstation: local sessions, local credentials, sleep policies, network reachability, and the risk that the employee takes the laptop away. These are not product bugs; they follow from the location of the executor.
Why Artux uses a dedicated company instance
An Artux employee runs on a cloud instance assigned to one company. It can execute scheduled tasks, deliver results proactively, remember commitments, and recover interrupted work without relying on any employee's laptop.
The tradeoff is equally important: the cloud instance does not automatically see an unsynchronized spreadsheet on somebody's desktop. Business systems must be connected through controlled interfaces, and unsupported integrations remain unsupported.
Artux currently focuses on Feishu/Lark. DingTalk and WeCom are roadmap items, not current production claims. If a company depends primarily on Tencent collaboration products today, WorkBuddy may be the more natural fit.

FAQ
Does Artux support WeCom today?
No. Feishu/Lark is the supported production collaboration channel. WeCom and DingTalk are on the roadmap; they should not be assumed available during selection.
If WorkBuddy can receive commands through Feishu, is it the same as Artux?
No. The messaging channel may look similar, but the executor remains on the employee's computer. Artux treats the collaboration platform as the workplace of a dedicated company instance.
Can we install a desktop agent on an always-on server?
That can improve availability, but then the company must own server isolation, credentials, upgrades, health checks, backups, audit, and recovery. It becomes a self-managed organizational platform project.
Can a digital employee read information the initiating employee cannot access?
It should not. Artux sends requests through the business system's existing authorization path with a restricted user-scoped credential, so the source system remains authoritative.
How should we compare cost?
Measure the current cost and failure rate of one workflow. A per-user assistant should be assessed by time saved across users; a digital employee should be assessed by the recurring work it completes for the team.
